Deadline for Vice Chancellors (or designee) at eligible universities in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda to name a Celtel Africa Challenge Liaison and Coach and enroll for Celtel Africa Challenge competition via online university enrollment form. Celtel Africa Challenge Advisory Council Meeting (invitees only).
15 to 25 October
Student Tryout Tests are conducted at enrolled universities in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Each university selects one or two dates on which to conduct tests open to all undergraduate students.
17 October
CAC Workshop for New Coaches and Liaisons in Tanzania.
18 October
CAC Workshop for New Coaches and Liaisons in Kenya.
19 October
CAC Workshop for New Coaches and Liaisons in Uganda.

Deadline for universities in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda to select the Celtel Africa Challenge Scholars Team for the Qualifying Tournaments and complete the online Qualifying Tournament Registration.

1 November
Qualifying Tournaments are held in Kenya (Nairobi), Tanzania (Dar es Salaam) and Uganda (Kampala) to determine the four teams which will advance from each of those tournaments to the Championship Festival.
5 November
CAC Workshop for New Coaches and Liaisons in Zambia.
14 to 27 November

Student Tryout Tests are conducted at participating universities in Malawi and Zambia. Each university selects one or two dates on which to conduct tests open to all undergraduate students.

28 November

Deadline for universities in Malawi and Zambia to select the Celtel Africa Challenge Scholars Team for the Qualifying Tournaments and complete the online Tournament Registration.

3 December Qualifying Tournament is held in Zambia (Lusaka) to determine the two teams which will advance to the Championship Festival.

5 December Qualifying Tournament is held in Malawi (Lilongwe) to prepare the two teams which will advance to the Championship Festival.

1 to 15 December
Celtel Africa Challenge practice sessions for university teams attending the International Festival & Championship.
3 December
Deadline for the 16 universities attending the International Festival & Championship to submit online participant registration.

22 January (Tuesday)
4 quarter-final games recorded for television.
23 January (Wednesday)
2 semi-final games and 1 championship game recorded for television & Closing Awards Banquet.
24 January (Thursday)
