Player Eligibility Rules

The Celtel Africa Challenge Scholars Team which attends a Celtel Africa Challenge Qualifying Tournament or the Championship Festival must meet the following requirements:
  1. The four members of the Celtel Africa Challenge Scholars Team must each have taken the student tryout test and participated in Celtel Africa Challenge Scholars Club activities (practice games) in order to be eligible for the competition.
  2. Students must be full-time students as defined by the university. A registrar verification that a lower course load completes all degree requirements is acceptable in lieu of the full-time student status requirement.
  3. Each member of the Celtel Africa Challenge Scholars Team must be registered in school for the semester or quarter during which the Celtel Africa Challenge Qualifying Tournament and/or Championship Festival is conducted in order to be eligible to compete.
  4. The composition of the Celtel Africa Challenge Scholars Team should reflect the diversity and history of the institution.
  5. All players are limited to one year of Celtel Africa Challenge participation, regardless of institutional affiliation.
  6. Eligibility exceptions must be appealed directly to Celtel Africa Challenge Headquarters.
  7. Celtel Africa Challenge universities may add additional eligibility requirements to conform to its university policies.
